November 2025 - Football Tournament
Wightwick Hall School travelled with pride to the Wolverhampton Foundation Dome to compete in the WMSSSA six a side football competition. Two teams represented the school, one from Key Stage 3 and one from Key Stage 4, joining teams from Westcroft, Hednesford, Penn Fields, Southall, Two Rivers and Queenscroft for a well attended and highly competitive event.
Key Stage 3 Tournament
The Key Stage 3 squad delivered a strong and confident set of performances throughout the league format. Their play was marked by discipline, teamwork and a calm approach under pressure. One of the standout moments came in a superb 4 to 0 victory over Penn Fields, where the team displayed excellent attacking play and real cohesion. Their consistent effort across all matches secured a well deserved third place finish.
Key Stage 4 Tournament
The Key Stage 4 team produced an exceptional display during the afternoon session. After successfully navigating the group stage, they advanced to the semi final where they achieved a commanding 2 to 0 win against Two Rivers School. This victory earned them a place in the final against Southall, the reigning champions and two time winners.
The final proved to be a tense and high quality contest. Midway through the match Wightwick were awarded a penalty, which Jayden converted with confidence and composure. The team then showed outstanding defensive resilience to protect their lead. The match concluded with a 1 to 0 victory, securing the championship.
Overall Outcome
Wightwick Hall School are the Key Stage 4 tournament champions, returning proudly with the trophy. Both teams represented the school with respect, determination and a strong sense of pride throughout the day. Well done to all students involved and thank you to the staff who supported the event.
